Overview
Sun’s out…drill rifles out? It’s time to use the off-season to get better! Whether you’re just starting out in the wide, wide world of armed exhibition drill or you’re a seasoned veteran looking to take your already-impressive skills to the next level, this course is for you!
Over the next two months, you’ll be challenged in your technique, execution, and chops! Through a series of workouts on a designated plan, you’ll learn to develop a consistent level of execution and approach across a variety of skillsets all carefully designed to make you a stronger fundamental driller than when you began!
How to Use This Course
Ultimately, while we know “drill is life,” we also know you have a busy life and other attentions. If you have a small amount of time to consistently devote to your improvement, we promise we can make it productive! This isn’t designed to be intrusive into your everyday life – it’s designed to fill the moments of downtime we all have in our regular summer schedules!
This course was designed to be utilized in the “off-season.” (Though, you can use it at any time!) If you start during the first week of June, you should finish at the end of July. Each week, you’ll work through a specialized workout consisting of numerous repetitions across FOUR skillsets. As you progress through the weeks, your endurance and abilities will be tested as the rigor increases.
Each week below will come with specific instructions about when, how, etc. you should perform that week’s workout.
Each week is also broken up into THREE skill levels:
- Just Starting Out – Recommended for brand new drillers who have just learned the basics of rifle handling! This is a reasonable – yet rigorous – progression that will have you snapping and popping at the next level by the end of our time together!
- Intermediate – This track is what we recommend for most drillers who have decent experience with drill or on their teams. It contains both fundamental and complex skillsets that all drillers should master as they advance in their practice!
- Advanced – If you’re throwing aerials, working on solo movements, etc. then this is the track for you. Be sure to preview the skillsets in advance to make sure that you can safely perform all the movements asked of this track without risk of injury or excess strain!
The skill levels are designed to be utilized consistently – for example, if you start on Intermediate, you should stay the course until it’s finished. Because of this, we recommend previewing the skillsets required of each track BEFORE making your decision!
However, no matter how advanced in skill you actually are, you COULD turn this into a 27-week program. If you’re advanced enough to complete the final track, you’re probably disciplined enough not to get bored with the Just Starting Out and Intermediate levels and truly take advantage of slower cadences and lower number of repetitions to hone the smallest of details!
So get your rifle, find a safe place to drill, and let’s get going!
(By the way, if you’re ACTUALLY working out regularly, you can absolutely continue to do so. We highly recommend doing your DRILL workouts on a day you aren’t also hitting the gym!)
