Marching Masterclass

Overview

Marching is hard.  Well, let’s back up.  Marching WELL is hard.  This course is here to demystify the process of snapping and popping on the move like a top-level championship drill team.  Modeled after the approach and techniques we use in our on-site training with groups across the country, this course is designed to start you off on the right (left?) foot!

How to Use This Course

This course is for everyone!

  • For brand new drillers learning to march for the very first time (though it would probably help to explain some of the basic tenants of drill such as response to commands first)!
  • For experienced drillers looking to take their ability to the next level!
  • For instructors/coaches tired of looking at top groups on the move and wondering what the “secret sauce” is to get that next-level intensity you only see from top teams!

Initially, you should watch these videos in order from start to finish!  Once you’ve done that, feel free to skip around to refresh on what needs most refinement (hint: it’s the lift/strike for sure!) or what you’re about to teach yourself!

While you work through the videos, we have created digital workbooks that you can print and provide to your cadets as they learn the mechanics we’re teaching!  These are a great way to make the teaching more interactive and increase retention!  We recommend using these if you’re a cadet taking notes for use with your team or if you’re an instructor looking to provide gradable coursework to your cadets!
